SPRING 2018- SAHARA SANDS. For Spring 2018 the brand directive was a Moroccan theme. I pulled inspiration from the Sahara desert for a strong neutral palette and using the dune patterns as inspiration for the art direction. The delivery became a fusion of utility and street concepts that were driven by khaki tinted denim, textured knits, and suede with custom made hi-polished bronze hardware.

Using the tiger camp/ desert dune print as the tether throughout the delivery, it appears as a debossed print on the nylon bomber, as a jacquard sweater, the print in the appliquéd/embroidered tiger face, and a tonal denim jacket. Moto/utility references crossover for a street influence while also owning a refinement. The multi-media snap front varsity jacket and track suit create a luxe feeling with the use of 365GSM Moleskin with perforated details.

The Moroccan them continues in SUMMER 2018 with MOROCCAN BLUES. This time I pulled inspiration from the city of Chefchaouen (The Blue Pearl), the color story of Yves Saint Laurent's home ,and patterns from tajine pottery. The overall feeling is an effortlessly cool, oversized silhouette full of texture and the graphic combination of royal blue and white. Royal Blue was a key color in sneaker drops and retro releases that all of these items could be styled back to the consumer's footwear.

During conceptualization I created the Art/Print direction for the delivery. I also pulled key silhouettes and details for the design team to reference and keep in mind during the design process.

The second SUMMER 2018 fashion delivery is MARRAKECH DREAM. This is the delivery that will feel a bit more 'thematic' in the sense of color and print. Referencing back to the Souk Markets and the Moroccan sunset for inspiration. The palette shifts into a white and indigo story with the use of Cadmium Red, and Windsor Wine. Accented with Royal Blue, Magenta and Rose Gold hardware.

The use of print/pattern and graphic elements is what makes the delivery unique. Color/print blocking combinations create the authenticity of the Moroccan inspiration while shape/silhouette and fabrications modernize it for a luxe street sensibility. The brand's FLIGHT program (consisting of utility inspired clothing) takes on a new interpretation through color, details, and print.
