MOOD/ CONCEPT BOARD: Concept images for inspiration and direction. I wanted the collection to not only pull references from F-1 Racing uniforms, but also the mechanics/interiors of the car while mixing it with heavy street references and active influences for the perfect hybrid of 'future street.'

FABRIC DIRECTION: Through fabrics I explore the mix of retro and modern. Traditional street/urban fabrics are partnered with tech fabrics and updates to have a contemporary sensibility.

TRIMS/ DETAILS DIRECTION: I wanted the trims and details to embody the sleek nature of the F-1 mechanics, but also have a sense of luxe street through shape, metal finish, and specific trim characteristics.

DETAILS/ STYLING: I use this board to show direction/ references for effective piecings, seams, trim usage, fabric mixing, and color/fabric blocking.

MOTO/ COLOR BLOCK DIRECTION: To create authenticity to the racing theme, I pulled references that could be applied to outerwear and fleece. Moto references included: piecings/panels, quilting, and blocking/stripes.

ACCENT DIRECTION: For this delivery the racing stripe became an important detail that also coincided with the taping trend that we've seen for a couple of seasons. I also wanted to show how it merchandised back to accessories/ footwear and how to make it a 'graphic' element.

KEY COLOR: RED has become such an iconic color in street/urban culture. Footwear has made it a dominant force in the market. The idea of head-to-toe red in leather or tricot track suits, red denim, red puffas, etc.
GRAPHIC DIRECTION

GRAPHIC/ PRINT DIRECTION: This board shows how graphics/ prints can be used on garments for embellishments and to create the sense of the F-1 racing uniform. (for graphic tees please see GRAPHIC DIRECTION below.)

EMBELLISHMENTS: STUDS and RHINESTONES were the appropriate embellishments to mix in a luxe street sensibility that worked back to the moto-references.
GRAPHIC DIRECTION FOR T-SHIRTS
Graphic direction took a very linear and graphic path. I pulled many references that would connect back to the racing stripe motif, racing track, and bold color-blocking. I gravitated toward propaganda posters, Bauhaus, Russian Deconstructivism, Typography, Optic/Lenticular, and Mixed Media motifs.
